The Changeover

The day is here to acknowledge that the Green Rocket is going into retirement...as a museum piece at Trisled HQ....and the new RV Mk2 is coming home with me.

I'll miss you "Old Friend"... it's time to take the new kid out into the world.

The "old fella" telling some stories to the newbies about his life.

Testing out the coffee....yep! that'll work 👍

The "Jaffa" ensconced in its "bike box" for the journey home..... next time we're here, could be, as we pass by on the route of the Indian Pacific Wheel Ride later this year.

Gippsland Rail Trail... "last ride"

Time has arrived to finally pick up the new Rotovelo Mk2....it's been a long time waiting but all good things come to those that wait...

Time to "click & collect"...but not until I have one last ride. I'm going to the Trisled HQ in Morwell,  Victoria, where I'll take the RV out for its final ride. The Gippsland Rail Trail from Leongatha to Loch & return.

Unloading and setting up for the ride.

Uphill to Korumburra....

Lunch at the Loch Markets, at the Trisled stand

Afternoon tea at the Burra Brewery

Coasting back down to Leongatha

Repack for the short drive back to Trisled HQ.

All in all, a good time was had...it was pretty warm on the climb but comfortable enough,  as long as I'm moving forward. Lunch stop was good..glad Trisled had a shade cover. Afternoon tea of beer & icecream is just what the doctor ordered 😋

Retirement of "The Green Rocket"

In January 2023, after surviving the trials and tribulations that came with the heady days, and a couple of years, of hopefully the worst of Covid, it was time for one Last Hurrah in the Green Rocket.

Just before "Covid" became a new word in our vocabulary, I had been in contact with Trisled about getting a newer version of the Rotovelo. Rotovelo Mk 2.

This updated version was to include rear suspension via a single air shock, front suspension via elastomers and full sized handlebars & brake levers incorporating tiller steering. The outer fairing has also been modified by being made lighter, with a more laid back seat position, giving more internal space for the pilot.
